Six things that make a video work
- Face a window. Daylight on your face beats any lamp. Standing with your back to the window turns you into a silhouette.
- Find a quiet room. People forgive a shaky picture. They switch off within seconds of bad sound.
- Prop the phone against something. A stack of books, a mug, a windowsill. Anything beats holding it.
- Thirty to ninety seconds is plenty. Shorter clips get watched all the way through. Longer ones rarely do.
- Record in 1080p, not 4K. On an iPhone: Settings, then Camera, then Record Video. It keeps the file small enough to upload over mobile data.
- Do not script it. Stumbles, pauses and a lost train of thought are what make it read as real. Say it the way you would say it to a friend.

Questions people ask
Do I need a Dropbox account?
No. The upload page works without an account and without any app. You will be asked for your name and email address so we can reach you, and that is it.
How long should the video be?
Thirty to ninety seconds. Anything under two minutes is fine. If you go longer, the file gets large and the upload can struggle on mobile data.
Where will my video be used?
On our website and on social media, and sometimes in a presentation. We will always get in touch before publishing anything, so nothing appears without you knowing.
I messed it up. Can I record it again?
Please do. Just upload the new version the same way and we will use the most recent one. Nobody sees the outtakes but us.
Can I change my mind later?
Yes, at any time and without giving a reason. Send us an email and we will take the video down and delete it.
