Hindrances when Focusing on Work
Giving good advice to people and living your advice is not the same. Today was a good example of how not to work efficiently. My day started with some on the spot and focused email work. This lasted for about an hour, up until my Inbox was down to zero.

Adapting Social Media
In this article, we discuss why businesses in government agencies are slow to adapt to social media. In my last article, I discussed how social media is changing the way we think and talk about products and services. In this article, I ask why businesses and government agencies are slow to adapt to the social media age.

Working with Companies & Social Media
A lot of companies are asking me about social media since I started making websites and doing search engine optimization. Now it seems to be the case that everything, including my clients, is moving towards social media. Thus, I have been asked to give a workshop on social media by different agencies. Furthermore, they all want to have something that lies in between a workshop and a coaching project.
iPhone: online 7/11
Learning what it means to be online all the time
I have had my iPhone for a while now. One thing I discovered is that it has some kind of profound influence when I am online all the time. For example, the meebo apps allow me to manage everything: my ICQ, MSN, facebook account. Thus I get a lot of notifications in my iPhone.
Lesson learned
Everyone saw that I am always online. They message me and I don’t reply because I thought it will show when I’m not there. I also thought that after some time, the status will revert to offline. However, that was actually not the case. I did communicate to other people, but I frustrated some people whom I was unable to reply to.
I have learned my lesson. I will only put the add-on if I’ m really available on the iPhone. That was a good learning experience for me, because that taught me that it’s probably not a good idea to be online all the time in a synchronous media. People expect you to react.

Social Media is a very broad category that comprises different media, different techniques and different groups. What you basically say by saying social media is that there is a social component which governs interaction between human beings. It’s not two robots sending information to each other. Media is the plural of medium, which means “in the middle,” or “in between.”

twitter wall agenda 2010
I got 10 of these huge Twitter wall agendas, and I’m really not going to use more than 2, so I’d be happy to swap or give it away for free. If you are a twitter fan and you want one of those just leave a comment.
However I am not going to send them via post, you will need to get them in Kranenburg or Nijmegen.
It’s really quite handy & beautiful too…
