[SOLUTION] Skype has stopped working Windows 7 64 bit #fail
Update: Try this to fix Skype
———-
Dear Skype,
a while ago I wrote a blog post titled Skype not working on windows 7 64 bit. Since then 3 comments have stated the same problem – and I have still found no answer to the problem. In addition to that I would like to show you some related search terms from last month that complete the picture. I have removed the search terms that relate to Skype in a different sense (than: “It’s broken!”).
Please Skype. Fix Skype for Windows 7 64 bit!

Oh yes great!
Tag people everywhere. I don’t mind – come on – tag me!
And oh hahaha – it’s so funny to tag “stuff” with people’s name – until…
…until you need to verify your account. For example because you want to download your data from facebook – or because you have lost your password. Then you will get presented with pictures of something – and you need to identify the people behind it. Great if it’s actually a face – not so great if it’s just joke-tagging and you get denied access to your account.
Facebook really has to change this and run a face-detection test before presenting the pictures.

I have a love-hate relationship with Skype.

Crowd sourcing basically means the knowledge of the crowd. It is a new way of solving problems. It’s a new method that has been brought about by the revolution of the digital technology. Before the rise of the internet, when finding a solution, you were mostly limited to time and space, at least one of those factors. You can, for example, send a letterto any place of the world. But then it takes time to communicate. Or you can call someone, but then you might not be awake at the same time if that person comes from another continent. With the internet, we got rid of that problem because now we can communicate, for example, in a forum without necessarily having to be at the same place and time. That changes the whole methodology on how to generate solutions to a given problem.
Youtube slow processing & mistakes
Something’s wrong with YouTube. I just uploaded a Video via Jing (MP4) and it takes hours to process. Actually MP4 from Jing normally converts within minutes and goes without any major problems. However this time it does not work.
This is particularly strange, as the YouTube backend (in my videos) does say that the video is already life. However when I try to watch it I get the hated “The video you have requested is not available.” This is even stranger, because it does show the right thumbnail, thus YouTube must have processed the video…GRRR!

I just updated to AVG version 9.0.733. Whenever I want to upload a file to Youtube or Slideshare (or any other service) the upload bar jumps to 100% very fast (- unrealistically fast). After some trial & error and thanks to Google I found the solution:
The AVG Anti-Virus Link-Scanner is obviously programmed badly. It keeps me from uploading files to the internet (even via 3rd party programs outside the browser). Deactivating the Link-Scanner solved the problem for me.
Dear AVG – please solve that bug. Thanks!
