Do We Need Chaos?
Why do we need chaos? Why is chaos usually a good thing? Our society seems to imply that we can control everything, and that control is a good thing. We control our kids. We control the books. We control the Internet. We control computer games. We control what is shown on TV? We control what we may or may not sell, eat, and learn.

stop to think you are nothing
start to think your so much
it’s the way you look and smile
that makes me craving for your touch
so many times I looked at you
never noticed what was always there
just let down you guard
and let me care
what could be more intriguing
what could be more seducing
what could be more pleasing
than caring for you
finally I get that look
infinite reflection of eyes
it is so pure and free
free from all disguise

2011 Egyptian Revolution: Facebook & Media as part of the protests
Last week at AFS Germany national training weekend Sherifa Fayez, the head of AFS Egypt, gave a speech that will be remembered by everyone in the room. It was full of passion and honest emotions. While Sherifa brought Tahir Square to this room in Germany our eyes filled with tears and our hearts were touched in a very special way.
Sometimes – to me politics is what happens at the 8 o’clock news. I tend to forget that democracy means the “rule of the people” – and that it is major struggle to reclaim that power one in a while.
You have deeply inspired me - Thank you Sherifa!
Psychology: The Stereotype and how People Deal with It
When you study psychology, there are specific stereotypes connected to this subject. The same is true if you’re a student of geography, sports or law. Those stereotypes tend to be only true for some people, and not for everyone. There are some stereotypes about psychology students, and some of these are true where I am concerned.

When is a difference really a difference?
I often see businesses compare their data and then they come up with two means that might be, for example, the return of investment of an adverts campaign versus the return of investment of a Facebook advertisement campaign. The means might describe a year, so that would be the result of a whole year. What you need to take in mind when making a decision and using means is that there is a random factor, at least if you agree with the underlying propositions of the general linear model. The truth is that the statistics we use today might not really be suited to do what we want do.
Generating Solutions to Global Warming
Our Planet needs Environmental Awareness
Our planet is the only one known to support life. It is protected by a thin layer of atmosphere that keeps the balance between air, water and temperature. As such, our planet is a treasure in the universe that needs to be protected. However, the human civilization has done a lot of things to break down this balance that sustains life. One of these things is our addiction for oil from fossil fuels. These resources kept our civilization running. Technology and knowledge increased exponentially. One would think that increase in knowledge also means increase in environmental awareness and preservation. But the opposite happened.
